I must ask why your steak was in a microwave instead of on a barbie? I spent Australia Day drinking lots of Finnish beer and salmiakki kossu (umm... it's salty licorice dissolved in vodka) Anyway, happy belated Australia Day! Enjoy summer, it's -20 here right now. A man's gotta have brass balls in these here northern parts of the globe.
My steak was transitioning from frozen to barbeque-ready, in preparation for the next stage in the cooking process.
Salmiakki kossu sounds like it would be an interesting drink, but I wonder if the saltiness would prevent it from being consumed in any large quantities. (Actually, when I try and picutre what it would taste like, I imagine a concoction that is half vodka and half sea water. Which probably doesn't do it justice.)
